Who we are
Development Associates of Texas, Inc. established in 1997, provides TDLR/ TAS Project Review and Inspection services for new and renovated construction projects in the Austin & surrounding (and in other Texas locations) areas. We also perform building, site, and even campus Accessibility surveys.
Accessibility Review Services:
Development Associates provides TDLR-mandated accessibility (ADA) project review (TAS: Texas Accessibility Standards) to our clients, owners, and designers. We also provide pre-plan review services for larger or campus projects.
What areas of Texas do we provide service:
We serve ALL areas of Texas, though mostly focus in the Austin-surrounding area. Out of town projects are subject to accountable travel reimbursement expenses.
When will you need our services?
- If your commercial (for commerce) construction (new or renovation) project surpasses $50k in construction costs,
- As required by your Permitting department (costs surpass $50k),
- Then you’ll be required to register your project with TDLR for Accessibility (Handicapped compliance under TAS; Texas Accessibility Standards)
- Additionally, we provide Site and Building TAS-Accessibility pre-construction services to identify existing TAS violations that will need addressing during upcoming construction/renovations.
- Our clients are diverse and include Architectural firms, Universities, municipalities, School districts, medical offices, real estate developments, churches, retail centers, and tenant finish-outs.
When your project requires a TDLR Registration and TAS review:
- We can register your project with TDLR for you if-needed for a small fee
- We will review your Plans for TAS compliance and provide a report with any possible TAS violations
- We will conduct a Final Inspection on your project to ensure the plans were followed and provide a report to TDLR stating as such, or directing changes as needed to provide TAS conformity
- We will provide TDLR with both reports and close-out the project once complete
